Quiz Nights

For quite a few years now, we have been holding quiz nights at LBC. We normally have three every year. At each one, all the money taken is given to a chosen charity. The first one raises funds for Birmingham Hospice, previously St Mary’s. The third one always gives the money to whichever charity we are supporting for the Harvest Appeal. The second quiz does not have a designated charity. Over the years, many different causes have been supported.

If you think quiz night is not for you, I would encourage you to think again! Come along & give it a try!! We have lots of giggles & some DELICIOUS food!

Quiz night only happens because so many people are involved in its preparation. A very big “thank you” to all those who work so hard to make it a success. Also, of course, many thanks to all those who come along & regularly support it!

The evening starts at 7pm when jacket potatoes are served. You can either choose homemade chilli, or cheese and/or beans as an accompaniment. This is followed by a tea, coffee or a cold drink. Some people come for both food and the quiz. Others just come for the quiz. The cost for the potato and filling is currently £4.00

The quiz starts at 7.45pm and costs £4.00 per person. It comprises of ten rounds, each round has five questions. There is an option to play a joker on any of these rounds, this doubles the score for that round. After five rounds, there is an interval. This is the point at which more tea & coffee is available, plus yummmmmmy cakes!

A quiz is also given out to complete in the interval. The remaining five rounds of the quiz are then completed. The scores are added up & prizes are awarded for the scores at each end of the teams table!

Thanks are also due to everyone who helps tidy up after the quiz. You do a great job and it is much appreciated!!
