After worrying about the implications of Tuesday’s announcement that gatherings larger than 6 people were about to banned, it has turned out that "Covid-secure venues like places of worship…” are exempt from the ruling so we can continue to meet as usual, but we will also go ahead with the plan to share communion this Sunday - Stephen

Today’s ‘guest writer’ is Sue Hancox, who works at Cadbury’s Bournville Factory:

Change

Letting go of every single dream I lay each one down at Your feet

Every moment of my wandering Never changes what You see

I try to win this war I confess, my hands are weary, I need Your rest

Mighty warrior, king of the fight No matter what I face You're by my side

When You don't move the mountains I'm needing You to move

When You don't part the waters I wish I could walk through

When You don't give the answers As I cry out to You I will trust,

I will trust, I will trust in You

Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings T

here's not a day ahead You have not seen

So let all things be my life and breath

I want what You want Lord and nothing less

No one likes change - this week whilst in the factory collecting and inputting data into an online instrument that automatically reads %fat, % moisture, particle size and viscosity of chocolate, it made me think about change – is this the future? No lab testing the chocolate every 3 hours, instead results will be instant – it’s frightening how things change and 2020 has seen lots of changes.

What does the Bible say about change and how can it inspire us in times of change? There seems to always be a guarantee in life that change will happen. Change is something we tend to fear and become anxious about because we do not feel in control of life.

The good news is that God has a plan for our life that includes a hope, a future, and for us to prosper. We need to learn to trust in God and allow the change to grow in us to become more like Jesus Christ. We are promised that all things will work together for good for those who love Him and keep His commandments! God is walking this life-journey with you - His presence is always with us, guiding us.

I was 26 when my mom died of cancer, she never knew her granddaughters and then 8 years later my best friend died of breast cancer - they were horrible changes but I’ve learnt to lean on God a lot more, it has made me a stronger person. Now when things change, I usually hide myself away and talk to God as if he is sitting next to me and ask him ‘what do I do now and what is your plan.’ I do not get an answer straight away, so I just keep asking and over time things change.

Covid-19 is no different. I am just learning to adapt to the new changes, but again I ask God ‘what do I do now and what is you plan’.

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,

for the LORD your God goes with you;

he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV

“Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;

 do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God

 will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NIV
