Here is one person’s summary of chapter 3: Every church is a trophy cabinet, displaying to the spiritual realms God's grace and wisdom in saving Jews and Gentiles in Christ. We have God's Spirit working in us to make us fit homes for Christ, and enable us to grasp more fully the love of Christ.
- How do people come to understand the mystery (secret plan) of the gospel?
(v 4-5, 8-10) Through whom and by which means?
- What have you learned about the importance of the church?
What difference should that make in our individual lives?
and church life?
Read Ephesians 3: 14-21
- strength:
- love:

- God the Father:
- Christ the Son:
- the Holy Spirit:
we don't know what to pray for?
we begin to think prayer doesn't work?
we feel inadequate as believers?
we feel we are unloved or misunderstood?
- Why can we realistically hope to become suitable dwellings for the perfect Christ; and to truly know the unknowable love of Christ (v 20-21)?
- Remember where Paul is (v.1) as he prays this joyful, hope-filled, ambitious prayer.
How does that both encourage and challenge us as we consider…
our own lives?
our prayer times?
PRAYER: Spend some time looking at the Open Doors website before praying for those who are locked-up in prison for their faith in Jesus Christ.
You may also want to pray for people you know who are ‘locked-up’ through thinking that God has no relevance to their lives.
