A few Sundays ago, in the earlier part of the service, I talked about ‘counting our blessings’, recognising things we can thank God for. I gave two example lists of the type of blessings I wanted us to think about. It is something we can easily get into the habit of doing each day – perhaps as you have a cup of coffee or on your journey to or from work. One person sent me their list of blessings which I have printed along with two others. Consider what 10 things you can thank God for today. - Stephen

Laughter                                               Bright colours

Fresh Linen                                           Washer & dryer in my home!

Flushing toilet                                        Central heating

Plenty of food in the cupboard                Watching things grow                 

Freshly cut grass                                   Sunshine & fluffy clouds                        

 

Good friends                                         Good memories

Funny stories                                        Peace & quiet

A good night’s sleep                              Coffee

Toast                                                    My home

Fragrant flowers                                    Ice-cream

 

Love of family & friends.                        Freedom to worship God & Jesus.

Clean drinking water.                             Easy access to food.

Free health care & dedicated staff.         Peace – not living in a war zone.

Good transport network.                        Easy access to heating & lighting.

Living in a democratic country.               Free education up to the age of 18.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, and you will keep singing as the days go by.
